Sauvie Island Lavender Farm: Ways to Get Your Lavender Fix

It is only natural as the cold rainy weather sets in at Sauvie Island Lavender Farm that fewer visitors make the trek out to the farm. That is why Sauvie Island Lavender Farm offers two great ways for you to get your lavender fix. You can shop with them year round online atwww.sauvieislandlavenderfarm.com or you could take advantage of their “we bring the farm to you” program.

From November through April, you can book a Sauvie Island Lavender Farm Home Show. Sauvie Island Lavender Farms does most of the work for you. They will mail out invitations and set up an aromatic lavender filled shop right in your home.

As a host or hostess, you will receive 20 percent of your show sales in free product or cash. You decide. As a guest, you get to take advantage of some fantastic deals only offered at out home shows and you get to take your purchases home with you. There are no shipping fees and waiting weeks to get your order. Also as a guest, if you book your own show, you will get an extra 10 percent off of your purchases.

Here is a great added bonus. If you are shopping for a gift for someone far away, just purchase it at the show, leave it with them, and they will gladly ship your gift free of charge (min $10.00 purchase).

Klock Farm (Blueberries)

While other Blueberry Farms are done for the year, Klock Farms just started picking last weekend and will probably pick to  until mid Sept because of our higher elevation. Check the farm guide for directions.

Klock Blueberry Farm is open for U-Pick blueberries for members on Fridays from 9-6 and for all other folks on Saturdays and Sundays from 9-6 as long as the berries last. We pride ourselves in bush-ripened blueberries. Call Clair or Beverly at 504.695.5882 for details.

Coussens Farms Opens July 3rd!

Coussens Farms will open for u-pick blueberries on friday July 3 from 9-4.  We will be closed on July 4.  We will open again on July 5 from 12-5.  The berries are sweet and quite large.   Our regular open hours will then return to saturday 9-4 and sunday 12-5.

West Union Gardens

West Union Gardens is having a late start on the berry season (raspberries, marionberries, loganberries, etc.) due to the cold spring. The positive side being that there are lots of berries out there slowly getting sweeter.

Coussens Farms

Coussens Farms berries are being watered and they are starting to turn blue. If the clouds stay away the sun should sweet"n them up in ten days or so. They are ready to go. The grass between the rows is mowed and the berries are just plumping up. Stay tuned for the opening date.

Jossy Farms

Jossy Farms had some nice days and some rainy days this past week. They took care of spraying the peaches, apples and pears to prevent disease and protect the blossoms. They also mowed all the tree rows and open areas on all of the properties we farm. On the rainy days they stayed in the shop worked on converting a 95 ford half ton pick up into a field fork lift so lots of welding and grinding. Want more info just ask!
